KOS – heart attack is a one-year program of comprehensive specialized cardiological care including: hospital treatment, outpatient care, and rehabilitation intended for patients after a myocardial infarction. Participation in the program is fully funded by the National Health Fund (NFZ).
The entire 12-month treatment process is coordinated by a dedicated Coordinator who supports the patient throughout the program.
The KOS heart attack program consists of three stages:
STAGE 1 – Hospitalization including diagnostics and usually interventional treatment
STAGE 2 – Cardiac rehabilitation, inpatient or outpatient
The program includes:
STAGE 3 – Outpatient cardiological care including cardiology consultations (4 visits) with diagnostic tests (e.g. heart echo). The third stage ends with a so-called care balance, a summary consultation including laboratory tests and a summary of the patient’s clinical condition. All consultations are provided by a cardiology specialist.
The patient does not have to schedule appointments or wait in queues – this is done by the Program Coordinator!
